Community Day on the Village Green

Sunday, October 1, 2017, 1:00 PM

All are invited to a day of fun on the Village Green sponsored by the City of Summit Police Department to thank all the support for Detective Tarentino.  The day will start with a parade to kick off the day’s activities.  The parade will travel the same route downtown as the Summit PAL Halloween Parade (beginning in the rear of 25 DeForest Avenue) and emptying out onto the Village Green.  Wake-Fern (ShopRite) has graciously donated approximately 800 hot dogs, bags of chips, and sodas to those attending the event.  The City is  looking for volunteers to assist in cooking/disseminating hot dogs and food for attendees. After the parade there will be a brief ceremony (National Anthem, God Bless America) including a performance by the Summit High School Marching Band.  During the day there will be two concerts, bounce houses, children’s entertainment (magic show, costumed characters, games), food trucks, locations for vendors to set up stands.  The day’s events will conclude with a movie shown in the park.  For this, they are also looking for a sponsor to hand out popcorn to the families sticking around or returning to see a special screening of a new Disney/Pixar movie. See attached flier for more details.
